Surface Work developed over 3 dozen appearance models for the Scout Modo, based on muses ranging from Japanese performance artists to South American beetles, then worked with plastics compounders to realize the appearance targets in integrally-colored polycarbonate. The first three to launch, though the most chromatically conservative, still have a few tricks: all are translucent enough to emit a soft glow when screen backlights are illuminated; the lighter model glows purple in blacklight.
